multiplayer campaign in call of duty 4? (Possible?)

so i went to this gamming place tonight and played call of duty 4 (really fun game by the way)

but my friend and i could not get multiplayer campaign to work.
like to complete the story with 2 players.

i have done it in halo and it seemed as if you could do it but when you clicked on multiplayer it would just go back to the main menu and everyone there had no clue


anyone?
has anyone done the campaign with two people?

You can't play co-op in Call of Duty 4. It was meant for only a single player campaign.
