Hey guys, I've seen this crop up a few times in some posts today but wanted to give it it's own thread (mainly because it's also effecting me!)

I have a gmail account that is my Apple ID, with which I purchased ML (and every other store attached to it, including iTunes, iOS App store etc.)

This seems to have become my primary iCloud account, however I also have a .me email account (with a better looking email address) which I'd like to be my primary iCloud account.

I know you can't merge accounts, that's never been possible, nor can you transfer purchases from one account to another (which I'd love to be able to do)..

I've logged into Facetime/Messages with my .me so they're fine, however Pages has automatically chosen my gmail account and I can't find a way to change it. Also find my mac is only accessible in my 'primary icloud account', a feature I'd want, but on my other id.

To top this all off, I'm automatically receiving reminders from my younger sister's iPhone (logged into my gmail apple ID so I could buy her apps when she wasn't old enough to legally open her own iTunes account, it seemed easier at the time) and I don't want my phone reminding me to get my nails done!

So what I'm asking is, has anyone else got any suggestions to fix this/ any workarounds ? I've got too many purchases associated to my gmail apple id to lose it, and too many people (potential recruiters!) have my .me address to lose that either.

oh I'm curious about this. I have the iTunes account I used when I started using iTunes years ago and accidentally created a new one when updating my iPhone a few years back. I *sort of* remedied it by not using that account, but facetime and imessages can be a little buggy and only seem to want to use the second account. Plus, the second account has a nicer email and I'd prefer that to be my main account.

Annoyingly, this was really simple to fix..

For anyone else who purchases mountain lion with an apple ID they do not want to be their primary iCloud account on their Mac, simply log out of all accounts and login first with the account you wish to be the primary account.

Seems simple when you look at it that way, but having logged in the wrong way round with my 'secondary' account first, there was no way to switch or even any advice on what to do.

Hope this helps someone else.

*Edit*
Could a mod please mark this as solved.
