Multiple AppleTVs?

Going to get an AppleTV, but having to decide which TV to put it. The home theater is in the basement, but if we have friends/family over to show them our latest photos/videos we'd all be in the family room. Also the family room is wired to the first floor audio where as the HT room is not. They're not THAT expensive (especially used) so maybe I need 2. Can you 2 on the same network and what sort of issues if any are there (such as accessing the iTunes library if both are in use)?

So even if the content is coming from the network (not on the AppleTV drive) someone can be in the FR watching home videos on TV1 and someone else in the HT watching a downloaded movie on TV2? What if both try to access iTunes at the same time (I don't own one yet so I'm not sure exactly how they access everything).

I recently bought two apple tvs and each is connected to my iTunes libraries (mine on an iMac and my wifes on a PC) without any issues whatsoever. I'm still amazed at how simple this stuff is to set up and use. Both Apple TVs can play or synch with either of the iTunes libraries with the press of a button.

I'd also like to add that the iTunes remote app that is free for download on the iPhone will also work with Apple TV. I am able to search through the entire iTunes library on my iMac, for example, and can choose playback not only on my computer, but also on either of the Apple TVs (or both of them simultaneously).

I love my Apple TV's so far.

I've had my wife accessing her iTunes library through her iPhone and playing her music in our exercise room while I accessed my iTunes library (through my own phone) and played a different album in our media room at the same time. It works perfectly well with audio, but I hadn't thought to test it on video streaming. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work other than network capacity.

I run each of my Apple TVs wirelessly at the moment (N wireless, airport) though they could just as easily be connected to the in home wired network if I just took the time to plug in the cable (I wanted to test the wireless connection and it has worked fine). We usually rent HD movies on the Apple TV and the "N" network handles them in real time without problems.

Could it just as easily handle two HD video streams at the same time? I haven't tried.

Very cool. Just to clarify, our network is a wireless Airport BS. Right now its the original version, but I may upgrade it to the latest for a stronger signal and speed.
