Hi everyone,

I just installed iOS 17 RC and I am trying to understand the new contact posters.

You can create multiple contact posters (and scroll through them) but you can only use one? Is this correct? This does not make sense and is quite irritating in terms of UI/UX. I had hoped to use multiple contact posters for different groups, e.g. a more formal one for most contacts but also a more fun one for friends and family. Is this possible or what's the reason to have multiple contact posters?

Thanks in advance!

You can semi-do this by changing your sharing option to „Always ask“, picking the contact poster you want for a subgroup of contacts and then going through all of their iMessage chats manually clicking „Share“ on the contact poster prompt that shows up at the top. After that you can revert to your go-to poster.

Did that once a few weeks ago, was such a tedious thing to do that I‘ll simply ignore the feature now and don‘t bother sharing contact posters with non-close friends / family (the ones I want to have my default poster) anymore until they enable us to connect posters to e.g. contact lists or add a new contact poster entry to the individual contact, where you get to pick which poster you want to share with them).
