Wanted to buy a Macbook on Black Friday, but could not add the student discount to the Black Friday sale price. You all warned me, but I was in "fantasy land". That left me with NO incentive to buy since the student discount and Black Friday sale price is essentially the same and can get that price any time. I wanted to buy my first Mac, but now I'm soured over the whole deal................

Thanks for listening,
Mike:mad:

So basically you're annoyed because you get Black Friday pricing all year around instead of just for one day.

OK.

yeah I bought my macbook on black friday and I just realized that too....

Oh well..

All I'm saying is they took away the incentive to buy on Black Friday if you are a student (when every $$$ counts). It's only a $101........not the end of the world.

Mike

It takes away my motivation to study. Way to go apple!

Why study and work your ass off when you can have the same deal on black friday

MacMall had a decent deals on the MacBook. If I hadn't gotten mine when the new ones were shipping I would have gotten mine from MacMall.

May not be combined with any other offer.

Get used to those words, they apply on virtually every sale in the world.

I don't think I've ever seen a sale where that (or some variation thereof) hasn't been the case. That's just the way it is.

If you're a student, you can save more than student discount thanks to the Student ADC program. You're allowed one time hardware discount that exceeds the regular student discount for "for development and testing"

You have to pay $99 to join but for the more advanced systems (Mac Pro, MacBook Pro) the added discount far exceeds the join fee.

Here's the link and then click on "ADC Hardware Purchase Program Store."

You're welcome
