Is there a shortcut on the keyboard to move a software that is running on a monitor to an other monitor?

I use a free app called Rectangle (https://rectangleapp.com/). I use it mainly for the "snap" feature, similar to the feature in Windows for resizing app windows. This app also has shortcuts for moving apps between different monitors. (see bottom right)

Rectangle for the win! The biggest problem I have with the app is that there are so many configurations you can add a KB shortcut to that you can't possibly remember them all. It's a good problem to have, I suppose.

I used SizeUp! ($12.99 from https://www.irradiatedsoftware.com/sizeup/ ). Looks similar to Rectange.

I have three displays, and the shortcuts to move a window to the left or right display work well—in fact, they even "circularize" the three displays, such that if I'm in the right display, and press the shortcut to send it right, it cycles around to appear in the left display. So if I want to move a window from the right-most display to the left-most display, I can press the R shortcut once instead of the L short twice.

However, it does have these two limitations:

1) They won't work if the window is full-screen (where you don't see the menu bar).
2) They won't work on Excel windows that are expanded to fill the normal display space (i.e., max size without pressing green button to go full-screen, so the menu bar is still visible), which is how my Excel files are normally displayed.

@tensixturtle , @MacGizmo : Does Rectange have either of these limitations?

@theorist9 yes, that looks very similar to Rectangle. Although it looks like SizeUp! might have some more fine-tuned customisation options. I tested out Rectangle with Excel maximised and didn't see any issue -- the window switched between my displays no problem. But when an app is full screen, I don't think any app would work because I think the application is treated as a full screen space and not as a resizable window.

Thanks for checking that! I installed a 10-day trial version of Rectange Pro ($9.99 if I decide to buy it); I tried the Pro version b/c it said it snaps the windows faster than the free version. I found it does work fine with Excel, as you said (interestingly, it actually contains an option to ignore Excel, suggesting Excel can be a problem on some screens).

Also, in case you're interested, it has a lot of options--more than SizeUp! (though SizeUp! does have a few that Rectange Pro lacks).

When I installed it, it gave me this warning, but I no longer use MatLab, so that won't be an issue:

It does have this nice feature. With Size-Up, I have the left-half and right-half shorcuts programmed into my my mouse, and my max-screen shortcut is a simple one. But I can never remember the quarter-screen shortcuts, so this seems like it will save me from having to look them up (but I haven't played with it yet):
