My site was fine, i made some changes and had to dl a new FTP client. Now there is a folder named "Logs" with a bunch of zip files and i can not delete the files or the folder. I even deleted it off the computer, but they are still showing up in the client. I dont know what they are or how they got there. Ive tried synchronizing the remote and local sites and the logs still show up... I need help !! i am so frustrated! when you go to my site it takes you to a page where you can click LOGS or PYP(my website) . once you click on pyp everything works fine...but i need that stupid file out of there . THANKS!

Are you able to SSH into the server? That would be worth trying. Then you could use the rm command on the files. Also look at the properties of the file to see if you can see who created it and if the file is protected, thus keeping you from being able to delete it.

umm...I'm not gonna lie , I dont know how to do any of those things... kinda new to this. what is SSH? is that where youtype all those commands? I have Smultron for that and it won't work on those files. The properties say the owner is unknown and owner, group, and others do not have any permissions and will not let me change them! i dont know what to do .

SSH stands for secure shell and is used from Terminal (otherwise known as the command line). Since you don't know what SSH is we'll skip that. It can potentially be dangerous to use for newbies.

Some questions that may help us remedy this,
  • What is the name of the file for your home page, including file extension (i.e., index.html, index.php, homepage.htm, etc.)?
  • The page that appears with the Logs and PYP links, what does it look like? Does it say something like "Directory Listing?"
  • Who is hosting your files (i.e., Yahoo, etc.)? That is, where you are FTPing your files to.
If you can provide a link to the site we might be able to see something you're missing.

OK I went to your page in Firefox it "displayed," but it can't find the images. I didn't get a page with links for Logs and PYP. Looking at the code for the page I see it was created in iWeb. That Log folder and zips files may be something your host does. You can ask them about it.

iWeb seems to be storing resource files (images, CSS, etc.) in a folder named Welcome_files. Make sure this folder is loaded to the server. I don't use iWeb so can't give a lot of help here. I hate the HTML code it makes and not sure how it's suppose to look. It has everything as images though and no text. All the text is stored with the alt attribute of the images. There might be a setting in iWeb to change this. Hopefully someone else can aid here.

I also noticed the link for More Photos has a space in it, this won't work, change it to an underscore. The same with Contact Us.

You probably don't have the access rights to edit anything in the log folder. Most likely it comes with the package you signed up for.
