I tried using the search feature and couldn't find an answer to my question.

I have three Macs that I will be upgrading to Lion.

Apple has told us that the price is $29 and all machines linked to one account can be upgraded. This is very good news!

My questions is can I download the large upgrade once and install on all three machines?

Or do I have to download the upgrade three times?

Thanks,

1) Download Lion on one computer. Don't install it yet! It will be deleted automatically after install.
2) Copy the installer file on the other computers, in the /Application folder.
3) Install.

Just copying the install file on another Mac without the correct AppStore login it will not work (as far as I know). It will freeze on install.

What I do:
- Install a SL on a external HD.
- Boot from that external HD with SL
- Now buy/download Lion.
- You can now install it on any Mac you want without a problem.
It will not delete install file !

You can either copy the Lion Installer.app to your machines and upgrade from SL to Lion or clone the InstallESD.dmg from within the .app to an external HDD or flash drive and install from there.
