anyone have more than one ipod for personal use?

i think it might seem a little extravagant (esp. in these times), but my 30gb 5.5gen ipod is starting to wear (much lower battery life, have to reset all the time, etc.).

so i was thinking of a nano for a workout ipod, but then the touch looks good too as internet, games, productivity apps, etc.

Sell the 5.5 gen iPod, and get a iPod touch + iPod nano. Maybe just get the nano now, and wait until they update the refurb store with current generation, then get the iPod touch. Having more than one iPod is very handy :D.

I have more than one and use all but one. I have an old 30GB iPod photo. It still works fine but I rarely use it anymore.

120GB black, use it all the time, I take it to work with me in my daily driver
160GB silver, use it in my other car
15GB iPhone 3G I use it sometimes at work for music.

I have a touch, nano and iPhone. The nano is used for working out, the touch my daughter takes when she's with me and I mainly use the iPhone.

Yes I have two. The Shuffle gets used in the gym. I keep some audio books on a Mini.
I'd recommend the Shuffle as a workout iPod. I really don't need to be messing with an LCD screen when I'm doing anything active.

mine is engraved with my name on the back though... probably driving the price down, right?

i used to have the 1st gen 1gb shuffle for working out, then it died a year later. i think it worked fine, but there were sometimes where i wish it had a screen and bigger capacity... thus looking at a nano.

also, the nike + thing looks cool and might be useful. anyone have any experience with it?

Yeah engraving drives the price down, especially if it's a name since it won't apply to the buyer in any way. But sell it with a case, and some buyers won't really mind because you don't see it anyway.

I have a Second Gen 8GB Nano, a 3rd Gen 4GB Nano (was an award at Work) and an Iphone 3G. I have found since I got the Iphone I only use the Nanos for the Garage and Working Out.

I have a nearly three year old 30GB classic, which has started to show its age, but I still use it as a back-up iPod, and a 80GB classic, which I bought last September, and which I use regularly. As I travel a lot, and like to listen to a wide variety of music, iPods are a necessity. In fact, I would not see myself being without one.

Cheers

I have a lot of games on my classic, which I am thinking of selling in favour of a nano (various reasons, but basically don't use the full capacity of the classic as prefer to just keep a few gig of tunes there for easier selection). Anyone know if I buy a nano and sync with my MacBook the games will go straight to it, or were they 'paired' somehow with my classic?

The more the better. :)

I have an iPhone 16gb, 80gb iPod 5g, 160gb iPod Classic & 1gb Nano. All for me! :) I am looking into getting a 16gb Nano. Just can't decide what color.

Currently, I have a 5g iPod video, 160gb classic, 16gb touch and a Zune120. I still use *every* one, so I don't see the harm in having more than one iPod.
In fact, it's nice to have a bit of variety.

I try to keep it down to only having 3 at a time... ;) :)

Well, I have 4 currently. See my sig for the line up. Nano is actually the main one since I commute. I don't want my iPhone to be out in the open when I'm choosing songs etc. The photo I use in the car and love it for the capacity, although it is a beast and it could be used as a door stop. The shuffle I use the least, usually for working out, although the earphones get caught up in everything.
The new Nanos look amazing, but cannot justify buying it as all is well with my collection.

To the OP, how big is your library and/or how much do you want to carry with you at once? Video is addicting on the go!

my library is pretty big. i had it on this powerbook and it was taking too much space so i had to put it on an external. i don't think it'd fit on the 120gig classic and i don't really need all of it at once.

so i'm thinking of a 1g or 2g shuffle for working out (i won't really care if it gets stolen at the gym/broken/etc.) and keeping the 5.5g 30gig for car/personal use. the 5.5g still works, so no need to get a new one but i still need a workout ipod (my iskin clip broke, so i currently have no music while working out).

Just get a nano. You don't really need all the features of the touch unless you plan to use it as a PDA sort of thing. NANO is the best way to go. Get the 16 gig one.

I have the shuffle for working out and doing household chores. Then for the ipod touch for shopping and traveling.
