Multiple Log-ins, charging vs. sync'ing

My wife and I both have log in accounts on my iMac. Frequently, I'll come home from work, she'll be working on the computer, and I'd like to charge my iPhone without disturbing her. The iPhone is sync'd to my account, not hers.

If I put it in the dock, it opens her iTunes. If I un-click "open iTunes when connected" in her account, it changes that preference when I log in to my account.

Any way around this? Or should I just leave that option unchecked in both our accounts and go through the horrible burden of docking AND opening iTunes every time I want to sync in my account (and yes, I'm baiting someone to say "what's the big deal?").

The setting is stored on the iPod/iPhone, not on the computer. So if you want it to open iTunes, it will on all comps.

That being said, what is the harm in iTunes running? On a mac it can run in the background (without any window), I tend never to close iTunes.

The easiest option is simply to CLICK, to open iTunes when you want it, I have to say it doesn't seem that hard!

Thanks. If my wife is typing a memo, I lean over her shoulder to dock my iPhone, and iTunes starts popping up, it annoys her. And because she never uses iTunes, it often pops up with a dialog box (re updates, etc), and she has to ask me what to do about it when she tries to log off later.

Like I facetiously said, I was trying to avoid the burden of an extra click when I log in. Just curious. Good to know it's stored on the ipod/iphone, not the log-in profile. Thanks again.
