How do the new screen-shifting gestures work on systems with multiple monitors?

Does a swipe shift both monitors' content one Space? Does it only shift the "active" monitor, i.e. the one with the mouse cursor on it? Can you lock a monitor's content so that it doesn't shift over?

Also can I use a full screen app on one monitor while still clicking and using a second monitor?

I would also like to know about the functionality with multiple screens.
