To be perfectly clear (?) here's the rule straight from the Mac App Store Terms and Conditions:

(i) You may download and use an application from the Mac App Store (“Mac App Store Product”) for personal, non-commercial use on any Apple-branded products running Mac OS X (“Mac Computer”) that you own or control.

Since you don't own or use on a regular basis your grandfather's Mac, I think it's technically not legal.

so that means that I would be able to install it on my iMac, Macbook Pro, and Mac Mini without buying separate copies?

Yes you can buy only one copy and use it on all of your Macs legally. Basically it's like a family pack without the 5 system limit of before.

Yes, as long as your iTunes/App store account is not over it's authorized limits you can install on all three. See Talmy's post above.

No limits at all. The iTunes 5 system limitation is a separate limitation that doesn't apply to Mac App Store apps.

You know this how? Presuming you know things about someone else's situation is always a bad idea. For all you know, the OP may live with said Grandfather and use that Mac on a regular basis and do all the work of keeping it running.

If you actually know the OP, then I guess I'm off, but I'm guessing you don't.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

Right. Any Mac you own and use.

So you're telling me that; the 36 iMac's we have in our lab here could use one license of Lion to install on everything??

If our boss who "owns" them purchases it, then installs it on all "her" computers....

please tell me this is true.

We have a few hundred macs here. I doubt one $29.99 license will cover them all legally. Institutions tend to go with the "legal" way of installing software like this even if the workaround could potentially work.
