Hi !

I'm trying to use Automator to rename multiple files. It's works well on the most of files, but it rename only 1 in the case of certains file. For instance, I have 10 .mkv files from serie's season with long names, and the Automator script do not work... :-( What can I do ?

Can you post a screen shot of your Automator workflow?

I use Automator for renaming photos and videos very often, and I have never had a problem with it.

You are running it like a service, which I have to admit, I never have done before. But try building the task as an application instead. Add the task "Ask for Finder items" and remember to check the box, to allow multiple files.

That is the way I have always done it, and it works like a charm every time.
And if you use a service in order to avoid locating the files in the file browser, you can just drag from the Finder, into the browse window.

Thank you, I have tried, but the new action does not appear when I right-click on my movies. It is saved in the Automator section in iCloud Drive.
Before, I had to select all the files I wanted to rename and my "multi rename" was on the right click menu (idk how to call it in english).

Why use Automator at all? You can do that just in Finder. Select the files, right-click, "Rename (x) Files", choose the "Format" method, then like this:

Yes I know this function, but, I don't know why, this fonction is not here when I select my serie's season... But it work on pictures, musics, ...

And this fonction is not so complete..., less than an Automator script.

The "Rename (x) files" doesn't appear either when you right-click the .MKV files? What sort of disk are they on, and what format is it? If it's not Mac OS Extended (Journaled) that might be why.
