I have an iPad and being able to use 4 finger swipe to switch apps is very handy.

Is there a way to get these gestures or something similar to the iPhone? Double tapping home button to switch apps gets tiresome when doing it a lot like copy/paste lots of spinets.

don't think the phone was jailbroken. It was a beta feature probably apple was testing and decided wasn't best suitable for an iphone's smaller screen and removed it in later releases.

Maybe there is a jailbreak to get this feature back to iphone, but i have a 4S which can't be jailbroken yet.

On a jailbroken iOS device you can use Activator to select an action to bring up the app switcher. To bring up SBSettings it was a right to left swipe across the status bar and I set mine to bring up the app switcher with a left to right swipe. Essentially the same thing as the double tap of the home button. I still had to use the home button as some apps (mostly games) "covered" the status bar. Some kind of 3 finger pinch or 2 finger double tap would work on the iphone. The trick is to find a gesture that isn't used in another app (like safari - pinch and zoom) that would cause confusion for an app... Is a two finger double tap of the screen a gesture or am I shooting something in a game...

When I was jailbroken, I used activator and selected swipe up from bottom of the screen (left, middle, right) to bring up multitasking. Worked well and was very natural to do.
