In beta of iOS 9 there was an intelligent behaviour using split screen / multitasking and messages.

If you were in say safari, slid in right to activate messages, typed message to friend then returned to safari allowing it to slide away - subsequent interactions with notifications caused the messages window to slide back into view - which was fantastic.

Unfortunately in the final release they either have a bug or chose to remove this.

Now if I slide over, Message, then allow it to go away, tapping on a notification banner launches messages rather than enabling the quick workflow described above

Can anyone else confirm their final release also removed this feature. Second can anyone see if they returned the intelligent functionality / fixed the bug that caused it?

I was bummed to see that gone, it was arguably fir me the best feature present in the iOS 9 betas.

Yeah, it's gone, my friend was ranting about it yesterday because he could text in class without the teacher knowing. But it is a bummer that they removed that feature, hopefully they bring it back.

EDIT: Oops, didn't read the 9.1 part of it. But it is gone from 9.1. My friend had 9.1 on his Air 2.

Crap I was hoping they figured it out and it was a big that was fixed in 9.1. I really hope more people than just me submit an enhancement request to get that back. I can't believe they'd come up with something that improved workflow so much and then dump it!
