Hey, I just had a quick question i wanted to ask.

Like the title of this thread says, I was wondering if u could use windows while running stuff on OS X with bootcamp.

For example, you are downloading a 3gb program on OS X and you feel like playing a game on Windows while u wait. Is there a way you can boot into windows while the download on OS X continues?

thanks in advance :p

No there is not, sort of. Bootcamp just lets you boot the computer into Windows and you cannot have two operating systems running at the same time.

However, virtualizaion will let you run Windows on top of Mac OS X. This is what Paralles and VMware do. However, this option is very poor for gaming as they lack any decent 3d graphics acceleration.

thanks for the quick answer yippy :p

Hmm... the answer was what i was expecting but i just wanted to make sure..

But yeah, i would prob have to use bootcamp and then go back to OS X to download then :(

I personally don't like/ "need" Fusion or Parallels as I ONLY play games on Windows and bootcamp seems to have a much better performance compared to virtualisation when it comes to gaming :D

No, this is one reason for virtualisation apps such as Fusion, Parallels and QEMU :)
