Noticed that the Snow Leopard version of Quartz Composer now has "Expose Multitouch Gestures". While these currently work with the multi-touch trackpads on MacBook Pros it seems odd to expose this to general developers in Quartz Composer as it can't be used on the iPhone.

Therefore it seems logical that this could come in very useful on a multi-touch version of Snow Leopard. Possibly on the tablet?

It this just for multi-touch trackpads or something bigger?

I'm not sure I follow your logic. You say that it seems odd that they expose this because it can't be used on the iPhone? By that same logic, it should seem odd that they expose the mouse or keyboard inputs because they can't be used on the iPhone either.

I think it is intended for use on the MBP trackpads only. I'm just happy they touched QuartzComposer at all. Revisions mean they are still supporting it and it is still a functional tool.

Confused logic...

I suppose what I mean to say is that this function is related to device that can run Snow Leopard and use these multi-touch sprites/elements system wide. As the iPhone can't run Quartz Composer material it would seem logical it is planned for something grander than the trackpad surely!?

Quartz Composer is just using the underlying API that Snow Leopard brought over from Cocoa Touch. Doesn't mean anything directly, although if there was a touch-based device, the OS would be ready to handle it.
