I'm wondering if the Rev. A MacBook Air's have the new features using the multitouch trackpads (like four-finger expose and all that)? I remember reading somewhere that the rev. A MBA's have the same technology driving their trackpads as the new MB's/MBP's.

(Yes I did do a search, :p)

By default the rev A machines only support up to 3 finger multitouch with all the Apple software updates installed. I've read you can manually modify some kexts though to enable the 4 finger expose gestures but I haven't done that so can't confirm it.

It'll probably be enabled by default in Snow Leopard, but for now there are instructions here on the forum to enable it by editing some files. It works fine just editing the files though so it might be worth the trouble if you would use the feature.

Four Finger gestures for Rev. A MBAs.
Please follow the instructions strictly or you'll ended with a disable keyboard and track-pad after you restart.

Is there a complete step by step instructions? I skimmed through the whole thread and I'm still not 100% sure I know how to do it. (or is it as simple as copy, backup or rename the original file and replace it with the new one?)

nm, I just tried it and it was super easy. Everyone should do this and shame on apple for not having it as part of the software update.

Cannot use keyboard or touchpad at all

I hope someone can help me...I forgot to "Repair Permission" before I restarted the computer and now my keyboard and trackpad is not working...anything I can do?

That's o.k. I just use an external keyboard.

Delete the new file from "Extensions" and move the original back-up file to the original location and then repair permission and restart.
This can only be done if you back-up the file before doing the hacking.

if you fail to back-up, boot from the restore disk and choose archive and install and repair it from there. You will need external keyboard and mouse.

If you answered to my question, actually, I just use an external keyboard to login to "Repair Permission" and everything works fine.
