I have tried and while I do think it's a good effort...probably the best one on the mac, it's performance still leaves much to be desired. Your best bet is to boot camp into windows and try out Project64...it's much better. Hope this helps!

This thread is a bit old, but a new version of Mupen64Plus was released this week (see the link in the above post). The new version (1.9.9.3) doesn't have a GUI, but it requires very little Terminal savvy. It's your best bet for a native OS X emulator.

It's also possible to use Project 64 with Wine & WineBottler (see http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/), so you don't have to worry about rebooting into Windows.

I agree

i'm not able to get bootcamp otherwise i would totally go for the project64. but i'm not very terminal savy in the first place but i am kinda learning the premise in college, sorta lol. I'm just curious wtf it is you actually have to do to get the program. i downloaded it and read the txt file but again i'm not sure what i'm doing. the exact command i used was also in the file but apparently the file doesnt exist. how does this thing work???

I originally had the same problem, until one very helpful person posted this on emuparadise. It's a link to install Mupen64plus without having to know any Terminal knowledge, which is good because there's no way in hell that I could use terminal, considering I don't even know what it is. But I downloaded it from here and it seems to work fine :) except I do have issues with some games lagging, flashing, etc. but I think it's my settings not the emulator.

Hope it helps!
