I'm looking for an alternative to the Music app to play .m4a lossless files on my iPhone 7 running iOS 15.5.

The most important thing is that I want a player that will deliver the best audio possible from lossless files.

I want to manually transfer a few .m4a files at a time to my phone from my Mac and then listen to them at remote locations, so simple file transfer is important.

Album/song artwork etc is *not* at all important to me. I just want to pick files and play them.

I don't mind paying a moderate amount if the app is really high-quality.

The reasons I don't want to use the Music app are (a) file transfer is too complicated (menus keep pushing me to sync the phone to my Mac, not what I want to do); and (b) menus want to offer things like songs from Apple's subscription service. Don't want to see any of that.

Fwiw I have a Roon host at home but it's not set up currently, so don't want to go that route.

Thanks for any suggestions!
