It does not bring you to artist, but bring you to album where this song belongs.
Also, I don't remember iOS 9 brings you to artist rather than album.

So you can't do it, even if you get to the album!

It looks like Apple got rid of this navigation feature when they failed with the music app in iOS 9 and had to rework it for iOS 10. Apple's music app is really bad. All it would take is to click the artist name to lead you back to the artist.

I love spotify. You tap the 3 dots and you have the options

Go to Album
Go to Artist

When playing a song and you want to go to the artist you have to do this.
Tap och song and album name between progress bar and play button.

then press artist name beside album art.

In fact it´s two steps like Spotify.

Thanks @Lappen71 ! It really doesn't work. Maybe something is corrupt..
When I click the artist name, you can see i've pressed it from the rollover effect but nothing happens.

I am not an Apple Music subscriber - I'm wondering if this is a difference.. Are you subscribed?

Mine works, but it takes me to Apple Music

I don't have Apple Music, so I want it to show me albums by that artist that I actually own. It worked great in iOS 9, but it's broken in iOS 10 for users that don't use Apple music.

I also just notice that I cannot tap artist to jump to it anymore, whether songs are available in iTunes Store or not. Don't have Apple Music sub either.
