Hi,
In Catalina's new music app, I have added metadata to certain albums in the "Grouping" field. For example for Disney soundtracks I'll add "The Disney Collection" in the grouping field.
When I do a search (Show Filter Field) in Songs view or Albums view by pressing Command+Shift+F and type "Disney" it returns 0 results. But I realized it's because in the Songs view I don't have the Grouping column enabled (it's hidden). When I enable the Grouping column, doing a Show filter field search returns the results in both Songs view and Albums view.
Is this normal behavior? I thought the search went through all the metadata in the file regardless of whether or not they were visible as columns. The Albums view doesn't have columns but still returns results depending on whether the Grouping column is visible in Songs view.
Also doing a regular 'Search' in the top left above 'Library' doesn't return grouping results from my Library regardless of whether the grouping column is visible in songs view or not.
I tried the same for 'comments view' etc. Any ideas? Was iTunes similar to this?
Thanks,
Nicolas
