I did a search on this but only found a few posts including this issue in general posts with no resolutions. I did try the Apple Music free trial and have since disabled it. Now whenever I play a playlist, songs will repeat while others do not get played. Has anyone experienced this or found a fix?

Have you accidently chose single repeat?
I assume your playlist contain more than one song.

Can you play the ones that are being skipped manually? If not it means the songs arent' on your phone but the playlist shows a reference to them.

Yes they can be played. All the songs are definitely on my phone. I did have syncing issues in the past, but this is a new problem.

No single repeat is off. Most of my playlists have 40+ songs. 10 or more different ones will play then one of them will show up, then more new ones, then another repeat, etc etc

My playlist does not have that amount of songs, uh. But sometimes I often can listen to the same song twice or three times. Only thing I can assume is the shuffle in iOS is not a real shuffle somehow. Maybe when creating playback list, duplicates are introduced.

Until Apple Music came out it NEVER happened. I've been using iPhones and iPods for years.

It happens to me too. It seems to happen significantly more on my playlists on shuffle than on all my music on shuffle. I don't know how to fix it or what triggers it because I did not use the Free Trial for Apple Music, unlike you. I've experienced this since 9.0. It's not every single time, but it is enough to annoy me and for me to notice.
