Running latest version of Monterey on a new 2021 MBP. I've repeatedly tried to import, via the Import command, a few stray music files that I copied over from an old MBP, but nothing happens. No error message, just nothing. Never seen this before. Any ideas? Thanks.

Odd, for me on Monterey, the only way to import any tracks now seems to be going to File/Import. The ‘Automatically Add to Music’ folder no longer acts as a Smart Folder for me.

I never knew that folder was there until this thread. I wouldn’t think Apple would want people mucking around in the Music folder at all.

I've done it that way for a long time. Works well. Same for TV shows and home movies. Also good to make sure it's backed up.

Definitely a nice feature. I just don’t like the location, since an erroneous drag and drop could leave files in the main Music library folder. A desktop folder alias seems better.

I import by dragging AIFF files to "Recently Added", and then convert to AAC after fiddling with meta data.

Been testing this and finding that the TV App & the 'Automatically Add to TV' folder suffers from this issue, too. I also routinely get script errors when adding items to a Smart Folder I've set up too add photos to a Folder in my Photos App Library. There's a larger issue here than just the Music app...
