I have been using iOS 10 since the first developer beta.

As I'm listening to a lot of music that I imported into iTunes using apple lossless from cds and a few songs purchased iTunes Store. I always use iTunes to sync music to my iPhone. I don't use Apple Music or iTunes Match.

I feel like the new music is going way to much online. I can turn Apple Music off. But god damn when I open the app, I press artist I expect it to show music I have in my phone synced through iTunes, but it shows music purchases too through iTunes, I don't want to see it. And I have to use the menu button "Downloaded Music" and then Artist. And then I get this annoying grey bar " showing only music on this iPhone"

And then there is the album view. Kind of feels the album cover is too big, I miss a list of albums.

And the now playing screen since iOS 7 has been showing album and artist in the same kind I really liked it breaking up in 3 lines.

Song
Artist
Album

It kind of makes me really want to go back to my iPod classic 160Gb 2009 model. It's all about music, my music.

Am I the only one who feels like that?

I have almost the same usage as yours, sync music on device, use stock music app to listen to. I also don't use AM and iTunes Match. I simply hate streaming.
However, I also feel that Apple is gradually forcing user to subscribe AM, which is definitely not for everyone. There is just ONE problem: many of my favourite music is simply NEVER ever be available on AM no matter how long it takes.
I also have an iPod Classic 120GB model, which still works as usual! Maybe battery is not that great but still can play most music (certain Hi-Res music cannot be played normally).

I also use Marvis (as well as Marvis+) as an excellent alternative of music app. It has great design, iOS 9 style playback interface but tons of customisable options. If Apple ever allow user to just use third party music apps to listen to music without stock music app then I will gladly jump to Marvis and never turn back.

But those songs can be uploaded, I've got tons of crap, not even songs, but just audio files, synced via Apple Music.

The song's name is Faixa 1 because it is probable some Spanish-Portuguese pirated version and it's just Track 1 ;)

Yeah they can be uploaded but not available for other subscribers.
Plus Apple will just add DRM on those songs and lower its quality before you can download back.

But why would you share your uploads with other subscribers, it would be equally inappropriate as torrenting or pirating in general.
And if you want to compare it to normal loading files onto the iPod, you would still send files/cd to your friends to allow them uploading it onto theirs iPods.
Sharing files that you may or may not possessed legally is shady at least. You probably bought a CD, but hey, maybe you've downloaded it from Torrents ;)

But when it comes to your second claim - Yes, lowering down the quality of your songs on different devices is stupid and Apple should do something with it.

Alright my first claim is baseless.

But I also hold no hope on Apple to provide lossless music in iTunes Store.

Maybe after the acquisition of TIDAL :)

They have Hi-FI + web player which is able to stream higher quality than Apple in iTunes.

Nope, usability of this app is very poor for those who are not using AM or not streaming their collection from the cloud.
But maybe that’s the right direction? We just need bigger music database and better quality. I think the future of collective music listening and renting is fair. It’s like „paying” for websites with your privacy. You don’t pay for the verge, or macrumors, you just generate them traffic and watch ads and special deals but most websites are accessible.

Similarly music could be handled. We all could end up in a future, where you can listen to everything and pay 20 bucks, but your input will be divided to pay to the artist you’ve listened to. But to do this we need everyone on board, then we have more money to mange and more artist can make a living of it. We can’t go other way around. We won’t force people to buy more and more discs again.

It doesn't add DRM anymore to files you upload. They changed the AM matching system to the same iTunes Match (which doesn't add DRM) one a few weeks back.

However, seeing all of those deals finalised by huge companies, I seriously doubt Apple will jump the ship, as it is the greediest company in the world.
And again, streaming sucks when internet is bad, which is the case for many many people around the globe.

That's why I haven't mentioned it but agreed to him that there is still a quality loss.

Sorry but this argument is stupid at least.

If you don't want to use streaming, you have to copy the music prior to your trip.

But that is exactly the case, or even easier with streaming. You just select it to be offline available, it's much easier than connecting and copying from your music library somewhere else. You can do it even on the way to the airport. And when you copy from your PC you can't.
And you're not limited to only that. When you found a wifi somewhere you could add some new music.

For music it is a bit different but this is my experience when watching YouTube video in decent quality (720p, not 1080p or even 4K if available).
Anyway, i would end up with copying music prior to the trip to avoid some massive downloading in airport.
I end here.

That's just the additional benefit.
This argument can't be argued. You can prepare your music normally at home as you would, or add some additional songs you've missed on-the-go ;)

I end here.
That's the thing, the hypothetical good streaming, database of Apple Music and quality of TIDAL seems inevitable to music industry.
