Here is an interesting issue that is affecting my iPhone X.

When I plug the iPhone into the USB port in my van to play music it always starts playing “Rockabye Dixie” by Abigail Washburn. This track was an iTunes free song of the week from 2005. But this track is not on my iPhone. I have looked on the iPhone and I have looked on the iPhone via iTunes and it is not on my iPhone!

My iPhone is running 12.1, it also did this on 12.0.

I have checked the following settings.

Settings -> Music -> Mobile Data is off
Settings -> Music -> Show Apple Music is Off. I do not subscribe to Apple Music
Settings -> Mobile Data -> Music is off

Does anyone have any ideas what other settings etc. to check?

My nightmare auto autoplay song is “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from Cinderella.

For years I’d plug in my phone and there goes the song that makes me want to plow through a field of talking rats. I couldn’t find a setting that would stop it so I ended up buying an aftermarket CarPlay capable stereo in hopes that “Apple will play nice with Apple” but it still kept auto playing.

My solution was to turn off iTunes Match, delete all of my local songs and use another service for music. It’s a ridiculous solution but for my own sanity then I just have to live with it until Apple addresses the issue (which will be never)

My phone defaults to "Á cause" by Celine Dion... yes I own this song, but seriously I'm sick of it auto playing.
