Well....I thought all went well.....I've been playing with the new IOS5 stuff and it's pretty cool....

This morning I wanted to listen to some music on my iPhone....only to find hardly anything will play! I even got a "Cannot Open" pop up on one. I've found a few songs so far that will play....but most will not. They're there I guess...artwork and all....song length....but when I hit play, it goes into play mode but I get nothing. No song, sound, progress on the bar, nothing.

Looks like my music is trashed?

An unannounced "feature" of iOS 5 is that it renders all illegally downloaded file unplayable. ;)

No, this is music I ripped from CD years ago when digitizing my collection. I never really got alot from Napster or Frostwire (and the like). I found alot of that to be junk with low bit rates.

I had that issue on the beta builds. You may need to re-sync your music to get it to play correctly. I thought that only happened with OTA updates but maybe it can happen with updates through iTunes as well.

Try re-syncing your music and see if it works then. If it doesn't, it could be a completely unrelated issue.

That's what I'm doing now....removed it all and am now resyncing.

Worked...everything seems to be just fine now. I didn't try "every" song of course, but the ones that didn't work now do.

Removing all of it and then putting it all back did the trick.

Just remove it all then re-sync. Should fix anything.

Don't have to remove it. Just uncheck sync music. Sync, recheck sync music and sync again.

Does the same thing without you having to go remove everything.
