Has anyone else had experience of MM just making up issues and lowering the offer? My 2021 M1 12.9 iPP has been in a case since the day I got it. Before I sent it off to MM I wiped the screen down and checked for scratches:nothing. MM then came back with a £250 lower offer saying the screen was extensively scratched. I’m beyond swearing now

Bear in mind that I can’t 100% prove my case against Music Magpie.

I had an iPhone X which worked perfectly everyday I had it. Decided to sell it to Music Magpie to offset the cost of my current iPhone. Before sending it across I took pictures of my device as proof of its condition (always good practice when selling a device).

They stated the Face ID model did not work upon receiving the device. I know this wasn’t the case when the item was in my possession because I had used Face ID everyday since release. I declined their revised offer and had the phone sent back to me. The phone they sent back did not match the pictures of the phone I had sent — it has scratches in places where my original did not and iOS does not work properly because of a restriction profile. The serial number of the phone is also different from my original.

I have every reason to believe they intentionally swapped my original phone.

That sounds even worse than my experience! To be honest I try not to use them but Mazuma who I normally use weren't accepting 2021 M1 IPPs at the time.

It’s always a roll-of-the-dice when selling tech devices. My experience was unfortunately bad. I try to not let these experiences get me down though as it’s only a physical object at the end of the day. Of course, I’m going to share my honest reflections with others who are considering the company so they can make more informed decisions.

That’s really damning and I would have come to the same conclusion.

I bought a refurbished iPhone 7 from them a while ago, needed a cheap phone for work.
Covered in scratches and as soon as I turned it on I checked battery health and it told me a battery service was needed.

This was supposed to be refurbished, sent it back and got refunded.

Never again.

I sent O2's contractor Trend Micro a mint condition Samsung Note 8. It had a screen protector and full flip folio case from day one. They said that it had screen burn-in when it did not and that it had a scratched screen when it did not. I refused their revised derisory offer and was sent a different bashed-up phone back. Never again. These trade-in and recycle companies are all the same.
