Hey,

all of my music is on my desktop...

...all of my contacts, calanders, mail, photos are on my laptop....

what do i do?

i have tried disabling automatic sync, and only syncing music on one and all else on the other computer, but it seems to erase everything on the iphone each time i sync... regardless if i have it unchecked to sync photos/etc.

any suggestions?

This may sound stupid but you do have the "Only sync checked items" box checked right? Your post mentions that you disabled auto sync, but nothing about that. Otherwise i cant seem to see why there would be a problem.

This is exactly my same setup, and Ive been able to pull it off flawlessly, not sure what causing the trouble on your end.

I sync'd my laptop first.

On my desktop (PC) I have everything unchecked from sync'ing except the music and sometimes movies, tv shows.

I selected only sync checked items, and I do have auto sync off now but didnt at first. I dont like it doing it automatically.

On my laptop (Mac) I have all my contacts, photos, calendar, podcast set to sync. With music, movies, tv not set to sync.

The only minor problem is the Desktop will delete my podcast that the laptop puts on it, so I have sync desktop first and always follow up with the laptop sync to get the podcast i want on it. The laptop only puts the Podcast on and doesnt delete any other media though I havnt however tried to sync the laptop while there is a tv show or movie on it from the desktop. I see the possibilty that it could erase those videos, but know for a fact it doesnt delete music.
