I'm using iOS 5.0 with an iPhone 4.

I uploaded an album to my iPhone, but it is not showing up with the other albums I have by the same artist when I search in the Artists tab. However, the songs do show up if I search for them in the Songs tab, and the album is there if I search in the Albums tab. Neither the album nor the songs show up when trying to access them from the Artists tab only. The songs play on my iPhone just fine.

I have tried turning my phone off and turning it back on again.
I have tried syncing my phone numerous times.
I have tried deleting the album from my iPhone via my computer as well as via my iPhone directly.

When I delete it from my phone and upload it again from iTunes, it will say it is syncing 37 songs total, even though I am only adding an album that has 10 songs on it. It will sync 1 through 10 like normal, with song titles mentioned and everything, and then when it gets to 11 it will zoom through them quickly, saying "Syncing 11 of 37", "Syncing 12 of 37" and so on, with no song titles and no more information about what is being synced.

Any idea what's going on here?

Here's an idea. Something similar happened to me...anyway, I'd make sure the artist name is the same on every song. Then re-name the artist on every song, but don't change the name. Just re-type it. When the similar situation happened to me, this fixed it. Good Luck.

It works fine for me - but I always make sure the Album Artist is set for every song, as well as the Artist. I did it to stop songs getting lost - for instance, Curtain Call by Eminem includes Stan, by Eminem Feat. Dido - unless I set the Album Artist to be Eminem, it would sit in a separate album.

This worked, thanks! The album artist was blank on the cd, once I added it, it showed up under the artist on my player.
