I have the problem that my music keeps stopping after a few minutes, and I have to restart it manually. This happens in every app that streams music, including Deezer, YouTube Music, and various radio apps. I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro with iOS 18.3.1. Offline music plays without any issues. I also tried using a VPN, but the problem remains the same.

I have a similar problem, but with videos and streams on YouTube via the Google Chrome browser. The video stops by itself approximately every 1.5 - 5 minutes. I have to start it manually.

Sounds like a bandwidth issue. VPN and Private Relay will only make that worse. Any details on the connection? Does it happen on WiFi and cellular?

Is the app staying in the foreground or are you going to other apps and doing other stuff? Only other probable cause would be some other app hijacking audio.

Try and disable BT and see if that helps. If it does, do a "network settings reset" and try again. If that works, try and figure out when addind BT devices if there are any device that might cause the issue.

Since offline music works, try using cellular connectivity only or Wifi only to see if it makes any difference.

Thanks for your responses @Reverend Benny & @HouseLannister . The problem only occurs in cellular mode; there are no issues with Wi-Fi. I tested turning Bluetooth off and on, but it didn’t help. I also tried resetting the network settings, but that didn’t solve it either. After that, I disabled my shortcuts for a speed trap warning app. Since then, everything has been fine. That might have been the issue. The strange thing is that these shortcuts weren’t even active while I was working, yet the problem still occurred. Strange problem, but it's working fine for now.

Cellular connections are a bit mysterious regarding reliability. One of my own observed behaviors is when uploading PDFs to iCloud in Scanner Pro over cellular, 99.9% of the time the document never shows as completed no matter how long I wait with the app open. Almost instantly when I connect to home Wi-Fi, the upload icon disappears. What’s truly strange is the upload is technically successful, the document appears in iCloud/Files and is viewable without problem. However, sometimes, if I delete the document in Scanner Pro while it still carries the cloud upload icon, a second copy will appear in iCloud Drive later.

P.S. Yes, I do have a strong(ly reported) cellular connection in those instances.

Great troubleshooting and thanks for sharing. What speed trap warning app were you using?
