Hey, so I imported a cd into my library and renamed the songs so they are not Track 01, Track 02 etc. I renamed it to the actual song name and then added some metadata and I grouped the songs in an album. However every time I update the library(sync it) it changes the names of the songs back to Track 01 etc. so it's syncing and older version of the library and overwriting the current one with it. How do I fix that? macOS Monterey 12.3.1

You might try making a new playlist of the songs you’ve edited - that’s been working for me for things like ratings.

If that doesn’t work, then just do like the rest of us and wait for Apple to figure out that their flagship software actually needs to be maintained.

Apple needs to revert to iTunes until they get Music sorted. Forcing everyone to endure this pos software until they rewrite it isn’t doing them any favors.

well yeah I guess. Any idea though why when I make an album of some songs, not a playlist, an album on my Mac (by editing the metadata for the songs and putting them in the same album) then I put some artwork and then I go to the iPad and the songs aren't in an album, and they don't have the updated artwork. It's like the changes don't sync. Or they sync but the album I create doesn't sync. The albums that I add from Apple Music sync but the ones I create don't sync. An the songs sync but they are in an album on my Mac but not on my iPad. Why? Does it not sync custom albums?

Who knows. Many things for me wont sync on their own, but something about making a new playlist seems to make the sync engine wake up and realize something needs to be done - and in the process other changes get synced as well. The last update fixed it all for me for a while but then it stopped again, so I suspect that something in MacOS is getting corrupted.

it's probably just the music software is quite new and not very polished yet. Anyway I will try creating a playlist but I really wanted it to be an album
