Music Videos only playing audio in 'Music' since update

Updated my iPad and iPod Touch to iOS 5 yesterday. Everything seemed to go well except for a major problem on the iPad.
I have a large collection of Music Videos catalogued into iTunes playlists. All playlists appear in the new (messy) playlist screen of 'Music' but when I open one of the playlists containing Movie Videos they are listed without a screen icon and play audio only. The files continue to be listed and play correctly on the updated Touch. They can be played through 'Video' on the iPad but in 'Video' the files are un-catalogued and impossible to find.
Anybody else have this problem? Anyone discovered a fix?

it's not a "problem", Apple took away the iPod app and split it into Music and Video. Why would you expect "Music" to play video?

Of course it is a problem! The iPod used to do what i wanted and paid for. The iPod app mirrored the itunes functionality. Apple decided to treat Music Video files exactly the same way as audio files and the file structure was maintained in with audio files. Apple even provide a Smart Playlist called Music Videos and Music Videos could be ordered within playlists.
Apple then decided to call the ipod App, 'Music' but there was no change in functionality. NOW with iOS 5, if what you say is correct then Apple have stripped all functionality to catalogue Music Videos leaving them in Videos which is as useless as putting them in Photos. Why on earth would Apple do that?

A music video is a music video and until iOS 5 it performed within 'Music' on the iPad. It has become obvious that Apple did not split iPod. They merely reduced the functionality of iPod and renamed it 'Music'. Producing a non functioning App called 'Video' is not satisfactory. Would you be as content if iPod had been renamed as 'Video' maintaining video functionality and all your music had been dumped into an amorphous and useless App called 'Music'?
This displays a crass disregard for the user. The 200 added gimmicks are worthless for me when the main use of my machine is destroyed.

No Podcast Video

I was accessing my shared library (which is on desktop iTunes) from my iPad 2 after ios 5 update & none of my video podcasts play the video, audio only.
It worked flawlessly in the previous OS.
I hope there will be a fix for this too.
Anyone else tried accessing video through shared library ?

Ok. I see now. It's a bit cumbersome but they put the video podcasts in the video app too.

I guess I'll just have to get used to it.

Instead of buying both the video and audio versions of songs some people like to just buy the video. And then if I'm driving I don't want want the video to play if I'm just listening, video kills the battery. So this is a no brainer to me, if you want video go to Videos, if you want audio go to Music.

Sure sounds sensible but only if Video had the same capabilities to organise as did Music. It doesn't. Video is a useless clunky app with none of the playlist functionality of Music This is a retrograde change and such a fundamental change should have been advertised. Had it been I would not have downloaded iOS 5.
