Just jailbroke my iPhone on the 3.0 firmware and was wondering what some great apps were. I only have BossPrefs and Hackulous right now.

cycorder and sbsettings are all i use.
winterboard on 3.0 is slooooooow for me. i can't stand it.

Cycorder
Winterboard
Installous
Icy
MxTube (More of an iPod App, but it's good to have them downloaded too)
Categories (This one is great if you've got about 5 pages of Apps. I took 6 down to 2 with this.)
Springboard

Those are just random ones that I remember installing. I've got so many JB Apps, I'm not sure which Apps do what. You should probably get used to using a disk client so you can add themes that aren't on Icy/Winterboard. Also, a great alternative for Installous is just using the Installous site and getting the App into iTunes. You don't even have to JB to get Apps like that.

Cycorder
BiteSMS (try a free trial. I like the quick reply/send function and counters)
SwirlyMMS
PDANet

Last 2 'cause Apple won't give me official MMS or tethering.

I don't use Winterboard at all. Lag city. Be careful with what you install and you'll be ok.

You're in the UK right? MMS is built into 3.0 and tethering can be done with the free hack out there that doesn't require JB.

There is an app on the official App Store called iWoopie which does the same thing as MxTube but with a better interface and is also free.

i jailbroke my 3g cause i needed a distraction because i want the new phone but can't justify the speed/features for another $300 bucks.

So far it's been pretty cool. I have noticed a general lag to my phone then before. Honestly the other stuff is nice, but the themes are the only great part about JBing. If :apple: ever allows custom themes then i'd probably not jail break.

The slow down is so severe for me that i'm considering wiping and restarting fresh from the 3.0 update. I'll give it a week and see how it acts in real life situations.

SBSettings
Scrobble
Winterboard
BiteSMS (for the # counter, which apple doesnt seem to be capable of)
asVibra2
asBattery (i think thats what its called)
appsynch
5 Row Keyboard (which unfortunately isnt working in 3.0 yet)
Status Notifier
MxTube

that's all i can think off right now

afaik, no.

but there are only like 5 sources in cydia so it's not a big deal?

Actually there are quite a few more, and you can access them in cydia as follows.
I haven't tested this in Icy...but will do so here soon today and post my find later.

add "The PwnCenter Repository" (i don't remember if its a default repository or not) but the repository address is:
http://apt.pwncenter.com/

after Cydia does its job verifying the address, search for "All Sources" and install that.

Steffwiz is the author of this "app"
Information taken from the install screen is as follows:
"Install this package to get all of the trusted Cydia repositories with one easy click...."

Hope that helps a little. Again. i will test with Icy soon.

EDIT: after very little research it appears that after installing the All Sources app icy will absorb and auto add the repositories/sources. I installed All Sources from cydia but would put good money on the fact that you could do the same steps above from within Icy with the same results. If anyone tries please let me know! thanks
