I've been jail broken for two weeks now and have downloaded several apps/tweaks that I now consider essential to experiencing the most ideal iOS. Such apps/tweaks include:

Activator
Springtomize 2
FolderEnhancer
ICaughtUPro
PasswordPilotPro
CleverPin
AppCent
f.lux
NCsettings
Jukebox
Curiosa
SwipeSelection
CameraTweak
LockdownPro
iBlacklist
LivePapers
Notifier
TypeStatus
NCcolors
Lockinfo5
DietBulletin
Action Menu
Data Usage
KillBackground
Zeppelin
TetherMe
PKGBackup
and several others...

What are some must have apps/tweaks that I'm missing? Also, which apps/tweaks are known malware? Thanks!

i have used many other apps. since ios 4-5. since ios 6 i only install essential apps since it drains battery and sometimes respring.

my must have apps. youre living in a rock without this...

bitesms - handsdown on any iphone

zephy + auxio (i can live without auxio since its not that great for me "my opinion though" - you can only see in the background where you left off and a few toggles -alternative SBsettings)

winterboard (+ lockscreen clockhide and slide to unlock killer for customization)

springtomize 2

you can say why only 4? -answer depends on want you want. im good with this setup. i tried dashboard X and notification tweak apps. its great but i dont need it anymore. like i said many tweaks and apps drains battery (for me) and sometimes respring on its own.

%HooksLaw

The only reason to jailbreak.

Well, outside of TetherMe and a few others.

I like that, but there are some animations where it needs to be disabled. Like on the iPad, the passcode popup when unlocking. There are others, but I don't wanna list them. If he fixes that, then I will get it again.

What settings are you guys using for %hookslaw? Or the default settings?

Wasn't even really aware you can change the settings.
I see that now.

I leave it as it loads.
There are some animations, such as described above, that limit the "joy" but overall when it is missing from my jailbreak the stock IOS seems so terribly slow.

Hi,

I only use a few eye candy tweaks such as Barrel and iblank.

My preferred tweaks I use at the moment are ;

icleaner
ifile
ikeyWi
Springtomize 2
Winterboard
Double @
Airplane Scheduler
App locker
Folder Enhancer
NC Settings
Pull to refresh Safari
Wee kill Background

Im sure ill accrue more over time after I've made sure they don't clash with my other tweaks.

I love gestures for everything

So my list has grown recently
- swipesafari - swipe and pull gestures in safari - almost any kind
- swipe nav - swipe gestures to niavigate UItables (ios menus)

I also got rid of biteSMS in favor of IrealSMS3 - it works better with sbrotator6 and i like how it matches the stock ios more or any theme you apply with winterboard

SwipeSelection was great until the latest update... now it randomly jumps around often, deleting mistakes on say, 'actualt' and typing 'ly' instead of 't' now causes 'ly' to autocorrect and create an entirely new word, aggrivatingly enough. It used to be so good:(

Speaking of updates, should one always install Cydia updates, or just leave them alone unless they actually fix known issues that users are experiencing?

Here's mine for my iPhone 5 iOS 6.1.2, in no particular order:

BiteSMS
SwipeSelection

Appinfo
iFile
iCleaner

My thoughts on this is install the updates you're expecting, thus you have an issue. Otherwise you will get burned at some point. Some updates remove features that are not an issue in your case.

Evaluate those that have new features, best to give a couple of days on any update and lurk the boards.

This is not just for Cydia but everything.

thanks! while searching for it, I found one for chrome too. I'll have to test them out

I use the dolphin browser to download files from the Internet. It's free. Plus it's a solid browser many people use as their default. I swore by it on iOS5 but safari has been so awesome on iOS 6.1.2 that now I only use dolphin to download files and use safari full time.

Accelerate - free. Lag-what lag?
AdBlocker - bye-bye ads
Springtomize 2 - bye-bye bloat stock apps
Flex - for everything else
LivePapers - for a diversion.
