Hi,

A friend of mine told me about ClamXav (virus checker.) And, I was wondering if you guys had a list of "must have" applications for a Mac? Some ones that I could really use are:
- Multi protocol IM client/service
- Duplicate file checker (who know that iTunes stored multiple versions of my songs?)

thanks

Adium for your IM needs. Firefox and VLC media player if you don't already have them. Transmission is really good too.

VLC is amazing I loved this app before I switched I'm very happy the mac version is also outstanding.

Lot of people swear by Quicksilver too, though it's hard to explain what it does.

Adium is definitely a keeper for multiprotocol IM and VLC is great for handling just about any video file I've ever wanted to play. I also find UnrarX to be useful for handling .rar files. Cheers.
