Muting HomeKit Notifications on Everyone’s Devices

Hi,

I am trying to sneak into the house the afternoon early from work to set up a surprise for my wife and I just realized that if I open the front door or the garage she is going to get an alert on her phone from HomeKit (both the Yale lock and the garage door are HomeKit enabled and we get notifications when either opens/closes).
If I go into the HomeKit app and turn off notification for either device will it stop the notification on her device as well or are her notification settings within HomeKit independent of mine? I am the owner of the Homekit account if that helps.

I'm pretty sure that her Homekit notifications are independent from yours.

And if you don't want the WiFi to go out, just delete her HomeKit-account and blame it on some bug.
