So many, many years ago I was at a Microsoft conference where they were demonstrating either Windows Phone 5 or 6. One of its most impressive features for me was the fact that it would automatically mute if your calendar showed you as busy.

Now I've not seen that feature in Android or iOS since. Is anyone aware of an app that will do it? I've also looked at Workflow and IFTTT but with no joy.

Don't think apps really have access to system/OS functions like silencing notifications of other apps and the device in general. You would basically need to use Do Not Disturb yourself (from control center, for example), or have it come on at a scheduled time (although it only has one related time that can be configured), or perhaps use the silent/vibrate switch on the device.

Yeah that’s what I do. It was just so much more convenient to not need to get my phone out and a shame it’s not been replicated since MS did it. I’ll have to check if modern MS can still do it
