So I think my mini died tonight from the GPU issue. I had been hoping to get a new MacBook when it launched at WWDC but that didn't happen.

I can MAYBE wait but this is kind of weird without a PC after 20 years. My mom has a 2010 MBP I can borrow I guess but it's not as fast. She doesn't use it much since she got a new iPad Air.

So my options... hold off until a new MB/MBP comes out? Get a current M1 MBP? Get a new or used iPad to hold me over? I'd like something with a larger screen than my iPhone 11.

And if I do replace it, what do I do with my mini? Sometime in the next week or so I'll try to hook it up to a TV via HDMI to see if it'll work but I don't think it will. I unplugged everything but power and still get the fans ramping up and no boot chime.

It's been a crappy day.

After 10 years probably time for a replacement.

If you don't need portability, get another Mini. Or maybe one of the new iMacs.
Important -- be sure to get 16gb of RAM with ANY m-series Mac.

I was looking at the M1 MBP. The price is doable, especially for how long I keep my Macs. I kind of like having a desktop but I can always add a display and keyboard if I really need that. The portability would be really nice.

I guess I’ll have to pull the SDD out of the mini to wipe it before I do anything with it since I can’t access anything right now. I did try it via HDMI on a TV and had the same issue.
