Anywhere but here
I just bought my 23" acd and I noticed that the screen has a grainy effect to it. When I look at a white area like the yahoo home page, there is a sort of sprinkled glitter like coating above the white area. I am wondering if all ACD's are like this or just the 23." I was going to return this screen to the apple store but if all the acd's have this grainy effect I might as well keep it.

My tibook's screen is not like this but my brother's alubook's screen is. Anyone else notice this grain effect on your ACD screen? Do Dell screens also exhibit the same characteristic as well?

My new 12" powerbook has it as well.

I think it's anti-glare coating or something. It's normal. My really old HP Pocket PC had it too.

I think if you wash the LCD with a little bit of rubbing alcohol it may come off - I remember my old Powerbook having it but it doesnt anymore. It might wash off with water, too. (not that it's any better to have it off than to leave it on)

I sort of wish that the grain effect wasn't there. It kind of hurts my eyes especially when reading text on this screen for long periods of time.
