I had transmission running and was opening adium when all of the sudden mac turned off or something but the monitor was still on, i could see the bleeding of the corners, but those where there before.

Can anyone explain why tiger decide to shut down or w/e but the monitor didnt, mac has been on since uh 6:30

Well the easy explanation is it's a computer and weird things can happen. Although my iMac has been great since I got it I also have a desktop G5 and cinema display and there have been instances where the screen would black out but the computer would be still on. The only remedy was to hold down the power switch to shut it down.

Now upon start up it's best to clear the PRAM just in case there was a memory crash. After you hit the power button then hold down all four buttons together "Command-Option-P-R". Wait for the chime to sound and then release and allow the computer to start up.

Judging from the fact that you wrote this post is it safe to assume your issue has been solved?
