Hi Guys,
This has happened a while back but appeared to sort itself out overnight, but!
Last night I had trouble shutting down, had to force the device off by holding the button down

On Restarting this morning, the system would just hang, got the screen up with the Apple logo and the worm would run nearly to the end and just hang and not go any further

After about 2-3 tries, finally got the system to boot up again,
FWIW, I have now ejected 3 external HDD just incase they would cause a problem?

Your thoughts?
Regards

you may wish to run disk first aid on all your file systems
Im a greenhorn when it comes to computers, I'm good with PP software but the rest Im too old I guess
Where should I find directions for that task?

Run /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility

Click on a volume, then hit that "First Aid Button". It may take quite some time.

Your a legend Erwin!.........Take the day off!:)
Worked a treat! Took a little long to get there but in reality, pretty fast,
Question,
I connect my other external HDD's, would it check them also?
Just wondering if they have been at fault ?

Much appreciated,
Thank you so much, and you speak the same language !
Even an old time can understand...........and, thats a big ask!
