My 4 Operational "wishes" for the iphone

1. Ability to turn off VOICE CONTROL. Mine continues to give me undesired operation when listening to the IPOD with headphones connected.

2. More backlight control. For example "remain on when plugged in" with auto-dimmer options (time for autodim etc.)

3. Ability to edit the call list (delete recent, missed calls etc)

4. Quick SMS - ability to text back a message without exiting the current app.

That's it - that's all I am asking for! I emailed these to Apple.....

I agree with everything you said, but how do you accidentally turn on voice control though? What do you possibly do that causes you to hold on to the button for more than a few seconds?

Another 4g thread! I want my 4g to be waterproof so if I drop it in the toilet no big deal! Or if I get drunk and fall into the pool. Oh theft proof to pick it up get zapped by 50,000 volts.

Voice Control

My voice control comes on all by itself. It happens when I plug the factory headphones in (sometimes). Other times I'll have been listening to the headphones for a good 20 minutes and then it comes on and on and on and on until I have to turn it off. I am trying to isolate the cause - is it the headphones or the unit that causes it.....not sure yet. What I AM sure of is that it drives me crazy. BTW I missed the wishlist thread - sorry!

You should look into the issue. I believe voice control should only come on via the long press of the home button or headphone button.

Well it was comforting to know that when I took it to the Apple store they had never heard of the voice control issue, so I guess I have the "freak" phone. I will be getting replaced today. lol.
