Not sure what is going on but my 7+ all of a sudden freezes when it comes to the buttons including the home button. Nothing works except the touch screen.

I read another thread about the same but could not find it.

Only way to get it running again is to force a restart. Hope Apple fixes this in the next update.

Anyone else.

Had same, once in nine days.

It's weird, I know full well that the home button is immovable, but when the software failed and there was no feedback it came as quite a surprise.

Same here. I was kinda shocked as my 7+ has been flawless until today. Froze yesterday and now today. Not a big deal unless it happens when I need it quickly.

Apple will fix. I am loving the new home button.

Mine froze once yesterday. But I just swiped up and tapped the camera icon, and that unfroze me. I would imagine it's a software issue.

I will give swiping up a shot, thanks.

My wife's froze just now. I couldn't force restart. It then crash to spinning circle screen and won't shut off or come back up.

Any ideas?

Not sure if what you're describing is what my wife has experienced but she says her phone freezes up sometimes when using the home button. She will use the button. It seems to not respond. She tries tapping the screen and it's frozen. But it eventually fixes itself after a second or two sometimes showing that it registered the button presses (for instance Siri might come on).

Very strange. Can't tell if it's hardware or software. I've seen it happen once but she mentioned it happened a few times.

My brothers 7 Plus was doing this.

Since there's an Apple Store just minutes away we returned there and they gave him a brand new replacement. Was in the regular printed sealed box, not a white box replacement. Manager said they only had new. Interesting.

So far after just three days this one seems fine.

(Soft reset didn't fix anything, it was unresponsive)
