I just got a new iPhone 16 Pro two days ago and noticed that my ability to precisely control the audio is absolutely abysmal. The control center doesn't allow for more precise audio than the volume buttons like it did on my iPhone 14 and the volume buttons themselves are also more imprecise - it can take two presses of the button to actually move up to the next level of audio. I absolutely hate this, and I will return this phone for an older model if there isn't a solution. Is this a manufacturing defect? I'm unsure because I found a single post on reddit from 8 months ago discussing this same issue so I know it's happening to more people than just me, but I don't know if it's just an uncommon defect or if most users just genuinely do not care about the significant downgrade in audio management ability. I tried calling Apple's support line, and they said there isn't anything they can do to fix it. I submitted a feedback report, but it specifically mentioned while I was filling it that Apple does not respond to feedback reports. If this is an intentional design choice with no way to change it then I am completely baffled and astounded at Apple's audacity to intentionally worsen one of the most essential features of their product. Is there any way I can fix this myself or should I just go back to an older model or switch to Android?
Edit: Upon further investigation, it turns out the problem is the aux to usb-c adapter. I am unsure as to whether this is a defective adapter, if the specific brand is poorly made, or if this a common problem among aux to usb-c adapters. I booked an appointment with my local Best Buy yesterday to try to figure out what the problem was, so I'll try to find out the specific answer to the problem then.
