iPhone Air My air overheated!

Maybe Apple will make a MagSafe cooling fan next year for the Air.
As someone who drives with Waze a lot in a very hot setting, every iPhone I have had has given me that message.
Especially since most folks have the phone out in the open so if the sun hits right for long enough it will destroy any phone. More Air hyperbole with little to no context (e.g. temp inside car)
Curious if the vapor chamber would solve this for you.
This happens with all my iPhones when left in the sun or heat.

I haven't had it yet on 17PM, we will see. Was just trying to say I wouldn't judge or return phone based on this, this is common.
Try leaving it out in the hot desert southwest sun or in my hot car.
All my iPhones will get the overtemp message within a few minutes.
Always fascinating to read these comments, as I know that climate makes a huge difference.
I’m from the U.K and I’ve only ever experienced an ‘over heating’ warning once; it was during a garden party where I left my phone on a table for a few hours in direct sunlight.
Can’t imagine what it must be like to use an iPhone in a desert.

Most iPhones do this, I wouldn’t return it over this.
Last iPhone that didn't overheat was iPhone 5 for me. When my battery was good on 11 Pro it didn't seem to do that either, but as it degraded to 90% I've noticed that it started to heat more.
Btw, using iPhone with no case helps a lot. Also try low power mode+60Hz refresh rate.
It also depends how much watts iPhone sucks during charging. The last non-overheating limit was 12w, and iPhones nowadays would probably get up to 40w which is a lot

Well there's a cool (har har) idea! Glue a Peltier to your car's phone mount. Only challenge would be powering it. And it turns out that's not much of a challenge either as you can get a 12v Peltier from Aliexpress for a whole $2.35:

We learn not to leave our phones in the sun or in tight pockets when it's really hot.
Never been an issue for more than a minute or two.

Too hot for the phone. It’s programmed to do that to prevent internal damage.
It’s not exclusive to your iPhone Air. Everyone on iOS 26 is overheating. Hopefully the optimizations will come soon in an update.

Has happened to me while I was in my car, because it was a sunny day and that warmed up the phone. It wasn't at all related to the hardware (not an Air) or the software (not iOS 26).
