I have AirPods Pro original on AC+ and over last 4 months I had exchanged them twice at Apple Store after tech confirmed they fail test. It looks like replacement don't last long. Just today I noticed only my right left AirPod cancels less noise than the right and felt little loose despite having good fit. I ran again Fit test and it showed good seal on the right but it asks to adjust the left one.

Which version of AirPods pro do you have?
I have AirPods Pro 1. I had AppleCare+ for 2 years and during that time I must’ve replaced them 6-7 times, I can’t remember exactly. Now AppleCare+ has ran out, and to this day they’re still working fine, but I’ve also got other headphones now so I’ve accepted that if they finally go funny like my experiences before, i’ll tolerate it.

But yeah, it’s terrible. By far the most unreliable headphones i’ve ever owned - hence why I haven’t bought the AirPods Pro 2 yet, and now with other headphones/IEMs that I’ve discovered I probably won’t ever buy them.

I must call tomorrow to complain about crackle noise. Maybe they'll replace like they did last two times. Hurra... Third time within a year!

It’s unfortunately a very common issue. The AirPods Pro 1 have been plagued with issues from the start - but there are some pairs that some people seem to never have issues with.

It is no coincidence that the new generation of APPs has a different design and different placement of the inner facing vents/microphones. And Apple did not just redesign it for fun:rolleyes:

Fortunately the last replacement pair that I got which is the ones I’m using right now have been working the longest out of any pair I’ve owned so hopefully that continues!

I was planning to keep them and just keep replacing under warranty but then I moved to new place where I hear a lot of thumping from upstairs neighbor so instead of buying on-ear cancelling headphones, decided to get new APP2 at discount at BestBuy which sell now for $200 and listed my old which I just exchanged at Apple Store under warranty for sale for half the price.

The noise cancellation feature day and night difference even with most recent firmware versions on both.

I also have Pixel Buds A Series and they sound great too, pair with my Android phone the same way as AirPods with iPhone with mostly similar but some different features. I found these also not quite reliable, sometimes loosing sync or making a popping sound.

For on-ear for use at home or office I use third party hi-fi headphones. AirPods Pro Max haven't impressed me too much for music quality and the price they demand but I love their build quality. I imagine for some folks its uncomfortable for long sessions though.
