I noticed this morning that my Apple TV was dead. Nothing is coming on. There is no power to it at all. no lights, no heat, nothing. Has anybody ever had this happen? It is out of warranty so i guess I am screwed! The apple people told me that I could try a new power cable. Maybe that will work.
Anybody had this happen and been able to fix it?

How out of warranty is it?

It could be the hard drive or power supply. I would seek a new PS on eBay first and see what happens.

Is it plugged in?

If so, chances are its not the cord but something inside. A new one would likely be more cost effective than a fix.

I assume he checked, if plugged into a power strip, then he checked that.

I bought it about 2 years ago, so it is pretty out of warranty and yes, it is plugged in. I have tried a few different outlets too.

Ironically the apple care on an apple tv is 2 years. ;)

I say try another powersupply via e-bay.
