My battery sucks

Seriously Apple, where's my 750 cycles and still have 80% health like it's stated on your website?

The built-in battery of the MacBook Air is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at up to 750 full charge and discharge cycles.

Anyone else have a weak health battery in their air? I only bought this system 5 months ago (Received it June 11th)

Ouch. If I were you I'd get it looked at at an Apple store. My MacBook Pro's battery has been acting up over the past few weeks. 180 cycles or so and it just didn't last like it used to - 2 hours at best compared to 5 initially. It still reported nearly full maximum charge still but that was likely an error in the battery's status chips. It would also lose charge if put to sleep.
Apple replaced the battery for me.

Honestly, I haven't really seen a decrease in battery times. I guess I'm too used to the fact that I only get 2 hours because I have my CPU pinned at 100% always.

A week?!! That's crazy. The MBA is a synch to take the bottom off and put a new battery in. In my case it was a First Gen Unibody MBP which have user replaceable batteries so they switched it at the Genius desk. Since Apple claim the batteries are designed to maintain 80% capacity after 750 cycles, it is unreasonable to have a battery already be down to 77% after just 378 cycles and in only six months.

My repairs were all done in less than 2 hours.

And usually if they have to do that then you can take your laptop home and they'll call you when the part is in so as to minimise the amount of time you'd be without.

My battery sucks, too, but it's a year and a half old now. I get an hour and a half of email/browsing before I need to plug it in.

I was in the same boat. I'm not a fan of Apples newer batteries. Had 78% battery capacity on my Rev. B after a year. F'n Apple. Bad batteries in last gen. Nano, touch, both Airs, and now looking like a crap one in my 13" MBP too.

Ebay is your friend. Can vouch for this seller. Bought one a few weeks ago & looks like genuine Apple battery and is recognized like one. Back at 98% for $52.

Well, so far, I'm well within my warranty so if it registered at a "Check Battery" again, I'll be at the Apple Store. So far, the battery randomly reports a health of 86% again with 381 cycles. I dunno why, but Apple's newer batteries can't seem to hold their charge that well. I remember my old Black MacBook had a 100% health after 1 year.

That's the original 37wHr battery. The current generation have a 40wHr battery. It's not hard to install it at all. I've removed my battery before when I did the thermal paste.

Its quite simple.

On heavy battery usage days, 3-5 cycles (full 100% -> 5% discharges and 5% -> 90-100% charges)... average is around 2-3... light is maybe 1. CPU is always at 100% due to folding@home in OSX. Under windows, it's gaming so that doesn't help the CPU cool down either.

In class, I do almost everything to conserve battery usage. Usually pump out 4 hours with 1/4 brightness and wifi sharing (cause theres no wifi in the classroom like wtf? I tether my phone and share with the other classmates). Sound off, fan locked at 2500rpm unless needed higher.

Considering I've hit almost 400 cycles in 5 months... well, it says I'm a heavy user and on the go too.

3-5 cycles a day? How do you even get the battery to charge so quickly. My battery takes ages to charge.

My battery recharges within 2 hours in both OSX and Windows. It's usually full enough that I can use easily for another 2-4 hours.
