Greetings,
My cMP is acting very moody for past weeks. It is a flashed 4,1 to 5,1 cMP. It has issue 2 months ago with northbridge overheated caused by broken heat skin retainer pins. I have them replaced and temperature is low since then. Later, my GT120 video card's fan stop spinning, and was replaced with a flashed AMD7870 and also was working without issue for about 1 week. Last few days, it began to froze under no load at all, only playing YouTube's videos. When it auto restarted itself, it stuck half way on 'Apple logo grey startup screen'.
After force shut down, it refused to boot, no start up chime, but fans and HDDs were spinning. Checking the DIAG LED, both EFI done and GPU Ok, were not lighted. A brick machine as some of you gurus term it. However, when I left the machine off long enough, a few hours or overnight, it had no problem booting up and into whatever apps I chose to use, but it only lasted about 30 mins or so, same issue of freezing happened and then restart itself but whom go behind half way of the startup progress bar.
When it was acting normal, both lights of DIAG LED of EFI done and GPU ok lit up when that button was depressed. But after the failed restart, these two lights were off again.
Any idea? I'm on OS10.13.6, Boot138.0.0.0.0. Seems like it is having menopause, just can't pin down the problem. Thanks for any tips or advise in advance.
Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year!

I really has no clue to my cMP, it booted up and running again, without changing anything. Now need it to go through endurance test.

Replace the GPU with a known good one. GPU is likly tripping the auto-resetting fuse circuit (takes up to 48 hours on some). I think your flashed GPU may be overheating. It’s obviously used, and probably needs new HS paste.

Anyway, start with a GPU swap for testing...
